Arrangement for dynamic expansion

For the expansion of compressed analog signals, a compatible digital expander is required in order to achieve a wide dynamic range. The digital expander is intended to be implemented at minimum circuit cost. A measurement path (M), which ends in a signal path node (SM), branches off from the signal path (S) upstream of the signal path node (SM). In the measurement path (M), a control path (R) with a feedback arm is provided which ends in a measurement path node (MM). A storage arrangement (S1) in which an output signal value (X3) is stored for each possible signal input value (X5) of the control path (R) is located at least in the control path (R), the output signal values (X3) being related to the input signal values (X5) in such a way that a required expander characteristic is implemented. For use in particular in the expansion of analog-compressed recordings, which first undergo analog/digital conversion before being digitally expanded. <IMAGE>
