In order to be able to carry out the burning away of firework bodies which rotate while they are burning, without any damage, and in order to be able to clean and transport the retaining device easily, a metal rod (1) is proposed which consists of at least two rod parts (2, 3) and, at the upper rod end (4), has a bolt (5) which projects at right angles to the rod part (2).
