PURPOSE:To always attain correct automatic focusing control regardless of original image contents by providing a means which selects the most suitable signal for the automatic focusing control from plural image signals obtained from a photoelectric converting means and performing the automatic focusing control based on the selected image signal. CONSTITUTION:A light translucent original (for example, a film image projected by a film projection exposing means) is read by the photoelectric converting means as the original image, parameter which reflects the sharpness of the obtained image signal is extracted, etc., and the automatic focusing is performed. The means 1015 for selecting the best signal for the automatic focusing from the plural image input signals (for example, R (red) signal, G (green) signal, and B (blue) signal of FGB color sensers 1001 - 1003) is provided at this time, and the automatic focusing operation suitable for the original image is performed. Thus, the automatic focusing operation suitable for the various original images is always correctly performed. |
