Device for measuring eyesight, in particular for determination of the degree of ametropia of the eye and for verification of the corresponding correction, which comprises: a mobile reticule, made up of alternate optically transparent portions and optically opaque portions, regularly separated from each other along a direction of movement of the reticule, and sighting reticules, each made up of alternate optically contrasting portions regularly separated from each other along a direction of movement of the reticule. The sighting reticules each present a distance between two consecutive analogous portions, or step, which is related to the distance between two consecutive opaque or transparent portions of the mobile reticule and to a degree of ametropia. <IMAGE>
