PURPOSE:To manufacture an inexpensive rare earth element - cobalt 1-5 permanent magnet excellent in magnetic properties by preparing an alloy having a composition consisting of specific percentages oh Pr, Co, La, etc. CONSTITUTION:A rare earth element - cobalt 1-5 permanent magnet having a composition represented by Pr1-xRxCoy [where the symbols (x) and (y) stand for 0.075-0.120 and 4.2-5.6, respectively, and R means at least one element among La, Ce, and Nd] is prepared. By this method, the permanent magnet alloy superior in magnetic properties to ferrite and more inexpensive than samarium - cobalt 1-5 permanent magnet can be obtained. This alloy is useful for various compact motors, automobile electrical equipment, etc. |
