The invention relates to motorboats. According to the invention, a motorboat carries on the two flanks of its hull, foldable fins composed of a membrane which may be deployed between the flank of the hull and a rib 2 which may be moved away from the edge with the aid of a connecting rod mechanism 3. When it deploys its fins, the boat can lift off the water and plane then splash down onto the sea at a reduced speed and without impact, possibly to prevent hitting a tall wave smack on.
