It comprises a balloon 2 connected to a flexible hose 3 for supplying inflation gas, and of dimensions such that in the inflated state its diameter is equal to the internal diameter of the end of the pipe 1, means 4 for introducing the inflation gas into the balloon by means of the flexible hose and for discharging the inflation gas from the balloon, and means for advancing the balloon into the pipe 6, 5; 6, 3 as far as its end and for withdrawing the balloon from the end of the pipe.
