A unit for conveying particulate or granular material comprises a conveyor with a conveying duct 25 and a chain conveyor 27 with drivers 26 that are moved through the conveying duct. The said conveyor is used, for example, for carrying materials, such as animal feeds, out to a number of consumption points that may take the form of feeding units. The conveyor delivers the granular or particulate material 11 from a reservoir 10, which has a base plate 13, height adjustable by means of adjusting elements 14, the said base plate together with a fixed annular base part 12 defining a material outlet gap 15. A raking element 33, which may take the form of one or more rake arms, is fitted on a vertical shaft 31, which is driven by the conveyor chain 27. The rate of flow of animal feeds from the reservoir 10 is thus dependent on the speed of movement of the chain conveyor 27, but the speed can also be adjusted by adjusting the height of the base plate 13 by means of the adjusting elements 14. <IMAGE>
