A switching circuit develops a switching waveform having three voltage levels at an output, the circuit having two supply input terminals. A power supply supplies power to the switching circuit as well as a constant supply voltage across the input terminals of the circuit. A pulse voltage generator, connected between a circuit ground and supply input terminals, supplies a periodic voltage pulse waveform having a pulse voltage amplitude of Vm and varies the voltage supplied to the circuit with respect to the ground, thus varying the voltage developed by the switching circuit with respect to the ground.
