Cutting apparatus

The cutting apparatus is intended for severing-cut and perforating-cut guides for flat-bag portion packs manufactured and filled in a string, especially those made of fibrous packaging material, and consists of a frame-like stand (1) with a passage orifice (2) for the packaging string, a cutting knife with a cutting abutment being arranged in the region of the passage orifice (2). So that clean severing and perforating cuts can be made, particularly in the case of fibrous packaging material, there is arranged on the stand (1) displaceably in the longitudinal extension of the passage orifice (2) an adjustable cutting-knife holder, on which two circular cutting knives (4, 5) capable of being brought selectively into the cutting position are mounted rotatably. One cutting knife (4) is provided with a continuous knife edge (4') and the other with a multiply notched knife edge (5'). The cutting abutment is designed in the form of a beam (6) extending along the passage orifice (2) and having a smooth surface (6') hardened on the cutting side. <IMAGE>
