Lagoon installation

The lagoon installation has a first pond (10) for the mechanical and biological degradation of dissolved and undissolved organic and inorganic filth, without return of the sewage sludge forming. The first pond (10) is followed by a nitrification pond (11). This contains vertical attached-growth bodies (14), past which the flow is horizontal, for the deposition of nitrifying organisms. The flow and the air incorporation in the nitrification pond (11) are effected by air-water pumps which generate a directed flow and ensure the cross-flow of the attached-growth bodies (14). The circulation rate in the nitrification pond (11) is at least 10 times that of the flowthrough rate.
