A device for carrying out diagnostic impedance measurements on living human or animal bodies comprises a first and a second measuring head (1, 2) each having a pair of electrodes (6, 7; 9, 10) which are arranged at the end of electrode carriers (3) and can be brought into electrically conductive contact with the body. The electrodes (6, 7; 9, 10) are connected by lines to an impedance measuring device (5). The electrode pair of the first measuring head (1) is intended for use in a body cavity and is arranged on the outside of at least one inflatable balloon (8).
