<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the correcting effect of the shape peculiar to a skin pass mill by controlling the tension ratio on the inlet/outlet of the skin pass mill, adjusting the elongation ratio of the strip material when the tension exceeds a limit and controlling the tension so that it comes within the limit. CONSTITUTION:The strip material 10 is passed through an inlet bridle roll 1, a skin mill 3 and an outlet bridle roll 2 to be drawn. The elongation ratio of the skin pass mill 3 part is controlled by rolling reduction of the skin pass mill 3. The speed of the skin pass mill 3 is controlled so that the actual inlet tension of the skin pass mill 3 is kept at a fixed value larger than the value obtained through the primary lag system. When the inlet tension of the skin pass mill 3 exceeds the upper limit of the preset value, the intermesh of a leveler 4 is reduced and when the inlet tension of the skin pass mill 3 comes under the lower limit, the intermesh of the leveler is increased. In other words, the elongation ratio of the strip material is adjusted to control the tension so that it comes within the limit.</p> |
