The constant current source circuit includes a current source responsive to the power supply voltage for supplying an input current to the circuit. A resistor controls the level of the output current of the circuit. An output transistor coupled to the resistor supplies the output current to the resistor and includes an emitter having an emitter area. A stabilising transistor is coupled to the output transistor for supplying a fixed voltage to the output transistor in response to the input current from the current source. A stabilishing circuit is coupled between the stabilising transistor and the output transistor for reducing variations in the output current of the circuit without increasing the emitter area of the output transistor.
