DETERGENT POWDERS AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING THEM

Prodn. of detergent powder of P content below 2.5 wt.% and comprising at least one anionic and/or nonionic surfactant (A), 10-60 wt.% crystalline or amorphous Na aluminosilicate builder (B), 1-10 wt.% water-sol. Na silicate (C), and standard additives comprises first spray-drying a slurry including (B), 0-2 wt.% (C) and opt. (A) to give a powder. The powder is then mixed with 1-10 wt.% (C) in the form of a particulate solid. The new features are that (1) the slurry for spary-drying contains 0.5-10 wt.% polymeric powder structurant (D) and (2) component (C) has SiO2:Na2O mole ratio 3-1:1, bulk density 400-1100 g/l and rate of soln. in distilled water at 20≦̸C, such that at least 80 wt.% dissolves in 1 min. and at least 95 wt.% in 3 min.
