<p>PURPOSE:To attain light weight, mass-productivity and to reduce the cost by making a support or a guide member of a rotary body used to vary the running direction of a magnetic tape in an optional direction with a raw material whose major component is polyethylene. CONSTITUTION:A raw material whose major component is polyethylene is used for a guide member. The polyethylene whose molecular weight is 500,000 - 6,000,000 is especially preferred. In the case of the molecular weight of 500,000 or below, the guide is worn against a magnetic tape, and in the case of the molecular weight of 6,000,000 or over, the magnetic tape is worn against the guide. Thus, the range of the molecular weight of the polyethylene is selected to be 500,000 - 6,000,000. The resin-made guide in this way is made light in the weight more than that of a conventional metal-made guide. Since the guide is formed easily by the injection molding, mass-production and cost reduction are attained.</p> |
