PURPOSE:To suppress slipping-off of a cathode active substance due to softening by covering a cathode and anode with sack-shaped separators made of respective specified materials. CONSTITUTION:A cathode plate 31 and anode plates 32 are placed parallelly so as to form a electrode plate assembly of a lead acid battery. The electrode plate 31 is covered with mat type, separators 33 in the form of sack chiefly consisting of glass fiber, while each electrode plate 32 is covered with sack- shaped separators 34 made in highpolymer resin. This constitution suppresses slipping-off of the cathode active substance resulting from its softening to prevent shortciricuiting between electrode plates, and thereby extends the life of the battery and enhances the producibility as well. |
