The invention relates to a device for changing the height of the upper deflection point in the case of a three-point seat belt with a belt retractor in a two-door motor vehicle without a centre pillar (B-pillar), the deflection point being held by a support, which is concealed in its rest position by the inner side-panel lining and on its upper side ends flush with the latter, and which, in its upper in-use position, which is brought about by a servodrive, protrudes beyond the side-panel lining. In the case of a device of this type, in order for the support to be subject to little stress when the forces exerted by the belt are high, it is proposed to design the support as a lever, the belt retractor adjoining the bearing-side, erected end thereof as an extension. That end of the lever which is remote from the bearing-side end holds the deflection point.
