PURPOSE:To obtain high triboelectrostatic chargeability and to obtain high- quality images without generating unequal densities in the images by forming a pressing member which is to be pressed to a developing sleeve to press the sleeve into the constitution provided with a thin-layer member having rigidity and good smoothness on the surface of an elastic member. CONSTITUTION:The pressing member 5 as a toner layer regulating member is constituted of the elastic member 7 and the thin-layer member 8 having the rigidity to allow free curving in the axial direction of a carrier 2. The contact surface side in contact with the developing sleeve 2 is formed of the thin-layer member 8 so that this member can be pressed under a preset pressing force to the surface of the sleeve 2 cooperatively with a member 6 for supporting the pressing member. The toner T attracted to the surface of the sleeve 2 is, therefore, rubbed between the thin-layer member 8 formed on the surface of the elastic member 7 and the sleeve 2 and the layer thickness of the toner T attracted and applied on the sleeve 2 attains a specified thickness. The high triboelectrostatic chargeability is applied to the toner T in this way and the good image density having no unequalness obtd. |
