PURPOSE:To achieve satisfactory copying by reducing a copying density set by a copying density control means to a previously set copying density which is lower than a copying density set in a single-sided original mode, when a double-sided original mode is selected. CONSTITUTION:In first and second double-sided original modes and a double- sided original copying mode such as first and second double-spread original (book original) modes, a copying density is controlled. The control of a copying density is as follows: when the double-sided original copying mode is selected by keys 41-43, a CPU instructs, according to the operation of the keys 41-43, each part to perform an operation according to the same mode set previously. That is, the CPU reduces the copying density in this case. This automatically decreases or eliminates set-off at the time of copying a double-sided original and copying a book original and a copying caused by a second page, therefore, a satisfactory copying article can be obtained. |
