PURPOSE:To equip a strut type suspension for car with the merit of a double wishbone by furnishing a wheel carrier at the bottom of a damper whose top is coupled with the car body swingably, coupling the carrier with the car body using two links, and by link coupling one of the links with the bottom of the damper. CONSTITUTION:Using an arm 24, a wheel carrier 12 is coupled swingably with above the end 11 of a shock absorber 10 having a forked bottom 11 diverged in the direction fore and aft of the car body. A link 14 is arranged in the transverse direction of the car body on the extension of the axis of wheel 28 and coupled with the wheel carrier 12 and car body 20. The middle part of this link 14 is coupled with the bottom of a damper 10 through a bracket 34 and another link 18. A third link 16 is installed stretching aslant to the car body and coupled with the wheel carrier 12 and car body 20 through a ball joint 36 and rubber bushing 38. This constitution will provide the merit of double wishbone. |
