In a method and device of starting a gas turbine, a gas turbine (4) is started while injecting a presecribed amount of moisture into a combustor (5) or a path for combustion gas from start up of the gas turbine (4) and the amount of moisture is varied dependently on the feed quantity of fuel or the temperature of the combustion gas so that combustion temperature in the combustor (5) or temperature variation rate of the surfaces of component parts of the gas path is approximately constant.
