Protecting device comprising a flexible protecting element (1), positioning and fastening means carried by this element, and openings (9) arranged in the outer panel (4) of the body element to be protected. The flexible or protecting element (1) comprises threaded bosses (2) which interact with fastening screws (7) provided with means (8) for bearing on the panel. The openings in the panel (4) consist of slots (9) whose width increases between a value permitting the passage of the bosses through the panel but not the passage of the bearing means (8) of the screws, and a value sufficient to permit the passage of these bearing means. The washers (8) and the screws (7) are put in place on the protection before it is mounted on the panel. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
