NEW MATERIAL:A polypeptide having cell-adhesion activity and having an amino acid sequence expressed by formula I (X is H, the sequence of formula II or a sequence obtained by deleting an amino acid or a peptide from the N-terminal of the above sequence). USE:An instillation, a lotion, a remedy for wound and a coating agent for culture substrate. PREPARATION:For example, a cDNA library containing a cDNA of a required region of fibronectin is prepared by a primer extension process from a poly(A)<+> RNA originated from human liver. The library is connected to a phage vector, cultured and screened by using a cDNA fragment of fibronectin as a probe. DNA is collected from positive plaque to obtain a DNA coding a polypeptide having cell-adhesion activity. The DNA is linked to a vector to prepare a recombinant plasmid, which is introduced into a host. The resultant transformant is cultured to obtain the objective polypeptide of formula I. |
