PURPOSE:To improve safety and reliability of a machine by arranging a weight such that it is pushed up when a lid is closed and lowered through self-weight when the lid is opened, thereby pressing the lid and locking the lid in closed state when the machine is rised under closed state of the lid. CONSTITUTION:When an electronic typewriter is set horizontally and the hood 2 is closed, a weight 6 exists at the left end of an inclining groove 1b and presses an actuator 4a, thus turning a hood switch 4 ON. When the hood 2 is rotated in direction C, the weight 6 leaves a rib 2a and rolls to the right end of the groove 1b with self-weight, thus opening the hood 2 and turning the hood switch 4 OFF. When the hood 2 rotates to position 2', the rib 2a collides against the weight 6 and the hood pushes the weight 6 obliquely upward of the groove 1b thus moving the hood switch 4 gradually to a position where it is turned ON. If the hood 2 is standed on face B with the hood 2 being closed when the typewriter is not used, the weight 6 presses the arched left end section of the rib 2a and energizes the hood 2 in direction D, thus holding the hood 2 in closed state. |
