PURPOSE:To surely and promptly detect a corner part by deciding a temporary corner at the bent part of point group data to indicate the external size of an image pickup object, forming point group data equivalent to two sides to form a corner, straightening the respective point group data, and making the intersection of both the straight lines into a true corner. CONSTITUTION:A picture processor 10 obtains the point group data to indicate the external size of the image pickup object by a point group data detecting part 3 and decides the temporary corner at the bent part of the data by a temporary corner deciding part 4. After that, the point group data equivalent to the two sides to form the corner are formed in a point group data partitioning part 5, and the respective point group data are straightened according to the method of least squares, and the intersection of both the straight lines is decided as the true corner in a corner deciding part 6. Thus, even when a stain or a distortion occurs in the image pickup object, or a noise is superimposed on a image pickup signal, the corner part can be surely and promptly detected with high accuracy. |
