PURPOSE:To switch optical coupling in a simple structure without requiring the electric energy by providing spring, which move both ferrule holders so as to separate them from each other at the time of releasing the engagement of both ferrule holders due to stoppers, between both ferrule holders. CONSTITUTION:Fibers 3 and 5 are opposed with each other and can be optically coupled: and when stoppers 8 are pushed inward in this state, ferrule holders 6 and 7 are released from each other, and both holders 6 and 7 are pushed by springs 11 and moved away from each other. When lower engaging parts 9b formed on the ferrule holder 6 reach positions of stoppers 8 by this movement, stoppers 8 are pushed outward by springs 12 and fitted into engaging parts 9b, and both ferrule holders 6 and 7 are engaged again. Thus, fibers 3 and 4 are opposed with each other, and fibers 3 and 4 are switched to optical coupling. Thus, the electric energy is not required, and the structure is simplified and miniaturized. |
