<p>A bicycle helmet (10) has a generally dome shaped helmet body (11) with inner and outer sides (12, 13) and a lower edge extending generally in the shape of a loop; an elongated reinforcement member (100) (see Fig. 12) of band shape is embedded in the helmet to extend proximate the looping lower edge (10c) thereof. Additional such band shaped reinforcement members (101, 102, 103) (Fig. 17) may extend within the dome shape of the helmet which in an alternative construction (see Figs. 20-30) may comprise laterally spaced rib or ridge portions (214 to 219).</p> |
