PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in developer and scattering from a developing means by setting the disposing position of the developing means downstream of the moving direction of an image carrier and restraining so-called idling state from arising in the developing means. CONSTITUTION:The disposing position of a developing unit 4 is set in the downstream area in the rotating direction of a photosensitive drum 1 from a distance that the photosensitive drum 1 rotates and moves on the basis of a part irradiated with a laser beam 3 until the developing unit 4 starts developing action owing to a clutch driving signal CLCD outputted from a video controller 18 after a semiconductor laser 14 irradiates the outer periphery of the photosensitive body 1 with the laser beam 3 through a polygon mirror 11 and an image forming lens 13. Consequently, so-called idling state is restrained from arising in the developing means. Thus, deterioration in developer and scattering from the developing means can be prevented. |
