The invention relates to a self-contained, portable, sterile shower device comprising essentially a reservoir 1 containing a washing liquid and a cartridge of compressed propellant gas 9 and provided with a hose 7 and a diffuser 8 capable of propelling the washing liquid to the outside, as well as a means 10 for piercing the compressed gas cartridge, characterised in that the washing liquid is enclosed in at least one impermeable and sterile bag 2 situated inside the reservoir 1 and connected 3, 4 to a system comprising a stopper 5 capable of being ejected under the pressure exerted by the compressed propellant gas when the cartridge enclosing it is pierced.
