PURPOSE:To obtain a maximum battery saving effect by calculating the propagation loss between respective peripheral base stations from the transmitting electric power of a peripheral base station and an actually received receiving electric power and selecting the base station with the smallest propagation loss and communicating by a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION:A mobile terminal 20 during the waiting periodically receives the signal from a base station (a) 10, a base station (b) 11 and a base station (c) 12 and obtains transmitting electric powers Pa, Pb and Pc and actually received receiving electric powers Ea, Eb and Ec from the base station transmitting electric power code in the signal. From the difference between the transmitting electric powers Pa, Pb and Pc and the receiving electric powers Ea, Eb and Ec, propagation losses La, Lb and Lc of respective base stations are obtained. When the call is executed by the outgoing call and the incoming call, the mobile terminal 20 compares the propagation losses La, Lb and Lc of respective base stations, selects the base station with the smallest propagation loss and starts the call. |
