<p>PURPOSE:To attempt to improve the mechanical strength of a transparent insulating tube, by filling resin made of an insulating material respectively inside and outside an insulating tube which encloses the joint portion of each electrode and each leading-out conductor, the transparent insulating tube, etc. CONSTITUTION:A stem 7a is fixed to each end part of a glass tube 6 forming a transparent insulating tube, having mercury sealed therein and also having each electrode 19 sealed hermetically in both ends thereof. And each end part of the tube is provided with an insulating tube 26 which encloses the end part of the tube 6, the joint portion of each electrode 19 and each leading-out conductor 25, etc., while epoxy resins 27, 28 made of an insulating material are filed respectively inside and outside the tube 26. This structure makes it possible to form an electric discharge lamp whose glass tube has improved mechanical strength.</p> |
