A method of providing a glass or plastic pane with information in the form of image and/or text elements cut out from a preferably translucent, coloured plastic film sheet, which plastic film comprises at least a base material layer and a protective layer adhering firmly thereto by means of a water-soluble adhesive layer. The method consists of the following stages: a) image and/or text elements are cut out from the base material layer, b) those parts of the base material layer surrounding the image and/or text elements are removed from the protective layer, c) an application layer is mounted on and adheres firmly to the image and/or text elements and the surrounding parts of the protective layer, from which parts of the base material layer have previously been removed, d) the protective layer is removed, image and/or text elements continuing to adhere to the application layer, e) the application layer with the adhering image and/or text elements are fixed on the glass or plastic pane so that both the application layer and the image and/or text elements adhere firmly to it, f) the application layer is removed from the glass or plastic pane and the image and/or text elements. |
