Sports shoe for cross-country skiing - has length-adjustable outer rear strip for better fit

The sports shoe has a leather upper (2) fixed to the shole and embracing an inner tensioning unit (4,5). The shoe has at the back a rigid cap (6) which is cut out in an arc beneath the heel bone area and a rear outer strap (8) which freely encloses the upper part of a padded area (7). The strap (8) is fixed for length adjustment at at least one of its front end parts (8a). The front end part (8a) of this strap can be detachably connected to one of the side flaps (4) of the inner tensioning unit (4,5) or to the inside of one of the parts of the leather upper. The strap cam pass freely through a loop (11) which is fixed on the upper edge of the rigid cap (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - The shoe, more particularly a cross country ski boot fits onto the foot more accurately.
