PURPOSE: To enhance the hydrodewaxing ability, selective paraffin decomposing ability and p-xylene isomerizing ability of a hydrocarbon conversion catalyst by make an intermetallic compd. catalyst component for hydrogenation- dehydrogenation carried on an acidic zeolite catalyst carrier. CONSTITUTION: An acidic zeolite catalyst contg. a metal for hydrogenation- dehydrogenation is reacted with a volatile inorg. metallic compd. or a volatile organometallic compd. under reduced pressure and anhydrous conditions to produce the objective hydrocarbon conversion catalyst. The metal for hydrogenation-dehydrogenation is, e.g. Pt, Pd, Re, Pt-Pd, Pt-Ir or Pt-Ir-Re. The inorg. metallic compd. is, e.g. silane, disilane or trisilane. The organometallic compd. is, e.g. hexamethyldisilane or tetramethylsilane. |
