PURPOSE:To extend the life of a display panel and prevent the error operation of display by providing such a constitution as forming a conductive film near a cathode preliminarily. CONSTITUTION:A cathode lead 2, a resistance 3, and a nickel anode 4 are formed on an insulating base 1 such as soda glass and ceramics by thick film printing process. A Ba cathode 4' formed by thermal decomposition of Ba(N3)2 in vacuum is provided thereon. The resistance 3 is connected in series to each cathode 4, 4', which cathodes conduct memory operations, respectively. As a spacer 8 forming a discharge space, thin film glasses subjected to chemical etching are laminated and used. An auxiliary anode 5 is provided in one end of an auxiliary discharge space 6. The wall surface of a display discharge space 7 is coated with a phosphor 9 to conduct a luminous display by ultraviolet rays formed by discharge. A display anode 10 is provided on a translucent face plate 11 such as soda glass, and the auxiliary anode 5 and the display anode 10 are formed by printing Ni paste followed by burning, and Xe is sealed in each discharge space. |
