According to this process, in a first stage, clays are flocculated with a view to making them permeable and, in a second stage, the flocculated clay soil is consolidated. In the case of basic clays the flocculation is performed using an acid aqueous solution; in the case of acidic clays the flocculation is performed using an alkaline aqueous solution. This process finds an application especially in the field of roadbuilding, in the production of roads, hard carriageways and industrial soils.
