PURPOSE:To make the best use of read-out information and to improve operability by providing a control means which inhibits a reading means from accepting the insertion of a copying mode specifying paper in a copying machine main body waiting mode or under a condition where the setting of a copying mode is inhibited. CONSTITUTION:A reader control circuit 48 for a reader 8 is connected to a CPU 40 through a serial interface 47. In addition to an insertion inhibition display and an insertion permission display, a carrying motor 49 carrying the copying mode specifying paper and a read sensor 50 optically reading a mark entered on the copying mode specifying paper are connected to the reader control circuit 48. In the waiting mode and the condition where the setting of the copying mode is inhibited, the insertion of the copying mode specifying paper into the reading means and its reading are inhibited. Under such an environment where read-out information is not accepted in the waiting mode, useless reading never occurs. |
