The invention is based on an arrangement according to the main application P 3813808.5, which is used for optional connection of electrical cables to at least one isolating strip. Connecting points are provided for the cables and thus for contacts which can be connected, as well as isolating plugs, which can disconnect these contacts by means of an isolating tongue and contain an overvoltage protection device. In order to improve the subject matter of the main application with respect to the construction as well as with respect to the assembly of the overvoltage protection plug and its connection to the isolating strips of the arrangement, it is provided that the individual overvoltage protection plugs (11a to 11e) have means for connecting them to form a row which is positively locked and/or has force-fitting connections in the longitudinal direction (40) of this row, while no positive lock or force-fit exists between the individual overvoltage protection plugs in the insertion direction. <IMAGE>
