PURPOSE:To prevent the icing of water accumulated on the bottom of a heat exchanger and a base plate frame by inserting a heat pipe closely between a compressor and the bottom of a heat exchanger and utilizing high temperature and high pressure heat of said compressor. CONSTITUTION:When a compressor 19 starts its operation during heating, the compressor 19 heats up the surface temperature of a drum of the compressor 19 by the heat produced during refrigerant compression and the heat induced by motor coils. This high temperature is transferred to a contact portion of a heat pipe 24 from the surface of the drum so that the refrigerant within the heat pipe 24 turns gaseous, flows into the portion of the pipe which is inserted into the bottom 26 of a heat exchanger 15 where the heat is cooled, because the heat exchanger 15 operates as a vaporizer. More specifically, although heat exchange takes place on the bottom 26 of the heat exchanger 15, the temperature on the bottom of the heat exchanger 15 is kept at 0 deg.C and over. As a result, the refrigerant in the heat pipe 24 is liquefied by heat exchange and flows into the compressor 19. By repeating this process, the temperature on the bottom of the heat exchanger 15 is increased, thereby preventing the deposit of frost or icing. |
