摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the installation space of an elevation passage by a method wherein a plurality of cages are elevatably arranged in one elevation passage, the cages are operated by individual rope drive systems, and operation is controlled according to the cage position and a call. CONSTITUTION:Two cages 2A and 2B off upper and lower cages are arranged in an elevation passage having a space for one cage. By arranging the cages in a rope having system as shown in a figure, the upper cage 2A forms roping of 1:1, and the cage 2B forms roping of 2:1. During running of the cage, floors serviced by the upper cage 2A range from a topmost floor to a lowermost floor + alpha, and floors serviced by the lower cage 2B range from the lowmost floor to the topmost floor - alpha. alpha is determined by the size of the cage, and usually approximately two floors. Service operation of the cage 2A is limited by the operation direction of the lower cage 2B. This decision is made by a control device 19, and a proper operation command is outputted to inverters 14A and 14B to operate the two cages.
