<p>A conveyor (10) transports containers (12) in sequence through fill, mix and sampling stations (14,16,18) respectively. A balance 26 at the fill station (14) determines the weight of matter in the container (12). Means (28) introduces into the container (12) an amount of reagent corresponding to the weight of matter in the container (12). Means are provided for drawing off a sample of the contents of the container (12) at the station (18) for examination, and means for washing and drying the container (12) are provided at subsequent stations (20,22,24). The apparatus is suitable for the determination of sugar and amino nitrogen content in beet delivered to a sugar factory.</p> |
