PURPOSE: To form a sheet-like structure with a surface exhibiting good adhesiveness and ability for receiving a coated print by forming a coating consisting of an adhesion-improving layer on a substrate by a corona discharge generated between an active electrode and a counter electrode and introducing an aerosol contg. crosslinkable or non-crosslinkable chemical as an adhesion-promoting agent into a discharge zone. CONSTITUTION: A coating consists of an adhesion-promoting layer on the surface of a substrate and in this instance, the layer is formed by a corona discharge generated between an active electrode and a counter electrode and introducing an aerosol contg. crosslinkable or non-crosslinkable chemical as an adhesion- promoting agent into a discharge zone. As the substrate, a film such as a biaxially oriented polyester or a polypropylene film or a polymer in a sheet shape is used. An electricity generator 5 feeds a high voltage high frequency DC to a discharge electrode of a corona discharge apparatus 11. A metal core 2 of a roll 10 is used as a grounded counter electrode and a self-supported polymer web 1 to be coated is carried on a circumferential coating 3 of the roll. An aqueous liq. is sprayed by means of a piezo-ultrasonic device in a spray apparatus 8 to feed a floating aerosol.
