PACKING AGENT FOR LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY

PURPOSE:To enable a high column efficiency along with a wider pH application by copolymerizing one or more of N-substituted (metha) acrylic amide as given by a specified formula and alkylene bis (metha) acrylic amide at a specified rate. CONSTITUTION:One or more of N-substituted acrylic amide as given by a specified formula I and alkylene bis (metha) acrylic amide as given by a specified formula II are copolymerized at a rate of 90-50:10-50 by mole ratio. As a result, as the N-substituted (metha) acrylic amide is less susceptible to hydrolysis and chemically neutral along with a wider variation available in a substituted group, a packing agent to be obtained has a sufficient resistance to hydrolysis. This facilitates balancing between water resistance and hydrophilic property with a wider pH application of 1-2, thereby assuring a better column efficiency combined with a fine porocity.
