PURPOSE:To obtain a photoconductive composition giving an electrophotographic sensitive body having high sensitivity and superior durability by adding a specified disazo compound. CONSTITUTION:This photoconductive composition is obtd. by adding a disazo compound represented by formula I (where each of n and m is 0, 1 or 2; each of Z1 and Z4 is H, alkyl, aryl or the like; each of Z2 and Z3 is H, halogen, alkyl or the like; A is a group represented by formula II or III; X is an atomic group required to form an aromatic ring or a hetero ring; Y is a group represented by formula IV or V; and R<1> is alkyl, phenyl or the like) as a principal component. A dinitro body represented by formula VI is reduced, and the resulting diamino body is diazotized and brought into a coupling reaction with a coupler having a group A to produce a compound represented by the formula I , e.g., a compound represented by formula VII or VIII. The disazo compound represented by the formula I is used as a material forming the photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic sensitive body. |
