PURPOSE:To share one light source with exposure and destaticization and to miniaturize a device by producing an image carrier wherein liquid crystal material is sealed between a cylindrical glass substrate possessing an electrode and wherein the light source is arranged. CONSTITUTION:When an electrifier 7 electrifies the surface of the image carrier 16 to energize the electrodes of the glass substrates 1 and 2, the intermediate liquid crystal material 3 transmits light from the light source 5 only to the energized part through an exposing port 19a, exposes a photosensitive material 4 on the substrate 1 and forms a latent image. The toner 14 of a developing unit 8 makes the latent image visual, a transfer electrifier 9 transfers the toner onto a paper 11 in a transfer station, and a fixing unit 13 fixes it. On the other hand, a cleaning means 10 removes the toner remaining on the image carrier 16, transmits and casts light from the light source 5 through an exposing port 19b to remove a residual potential. In such a way, one central light source 5 serves as exposing and destaticizing means to miniaturize the device. |
