PURPOSE:To reduce the surface of light incidence of an optical record carrier for the opportunity to directly touch another matter and to use the title carrier without cassette and, at the same time, to firmly fix both base plates of the carrier to each other by causing the tip of a rod pillar section to protrude from the surface of light incidence. CONSTITUTION:The recording area 10 of this rectangular optical record carrier is provided with concentric or spiral information tracks and scanned relatively to a laser beam spot while the area 10 rotates. The carrier has an air layer structure formed by a spacer section 11 and a backing base plate is united with a transparent base plate by means of rod pillar sections 12 protruding from the surface of light incidence. Therefore, the surface of light incident of this carrier is prevented from being accidentally brought into contact with the surface of a desk, etc., and this carrier can be used without cassette. Moreover, when the rod pillar sections 12 are fixed to holes of the transparent base plate by fusion after the sections 12 are passed through the holes, both base plates can be fixed to each other easily. |
