Disposal container for used hypodermic needles, has a cap with a non-return needle insertion passage, and also with an inverted-skirt shroud extending upwardly and outwardly to guard a hand holding the container during needle insertion. Pref. the cap fits onto a head unit secured to the container mouth, and the container is sealable by another cap after removing the head unit, specifically for reuse after autoclaving.
