PURPOSE:To eliminate the change in the measured value of an oxygen concn. when pulsation, etc., arise at the time of starting and stopping of a pump in a piping system or during the normal running thereof by providing a hermetic chamber having prescribed volume between the pump and an oxygen sensor. CONSTITUTION:The hermetic chamber having the prescribed volume i.e. buffer 15 is inserted between the pump 12 and a sensor case 13 via the piping 11. The gas to be detected sucked by the pump 12, therefore, stagnates temporarily in the buffer 15 before the gas arrives at the sensor case 13 by passing the inside of the piping 11. The pressure change in the piping system by the pulsation, etc., is thus absorbed and the oxygen in the gas to be detected of the limited amt. is eventually admitted from a small hole 6 of a cap 5 of the oxygen sensor 1 into the sensor. The change in the measured value of the oxygen concn. by the start and stop of the pump or the pulsation, etc., is obviated in this way. |
