PURPOSE:To manufacture a thermal transfer recorder not inferior to an electrophotographic system and an ink jet system by feeding powder ink to a section just above a thermal-head heating element by the use of a powder ink supply nozzle and forming a visible image onto a medium to be transferred by the heat generation of the heating element. CONSTITUTION:The powder ink supply nozzles 11 of a thermal head 32 are filled with powder ink 43 at all times by a fixed quantity of pressure, and powder ink is changed into heat melting ink from an ink transfer section (a glazed layer crack section) 12 when heat is applied in the ink transfer section 12. An electrode 14 is printed and wired onto the ceramic substrate 13 of the thermal head. Pressure difference between the inside of a positive-pressure powder ink tank 31 and the inside of a negative-pressure powder ink tank 34 is brought to 5kg/cm<2> regarding a powder ink circulation system. When the heating element section 41 of the thermal head 32 is heat-generated, the powder ink 43 is thermally melted, and transfer dots are shaped onto paper 44 to be transferred. |
